This listing is for 5 sea sponges. You can use these whole bathing or cut them in pieces for embedding in soaps like the pictures above. Each sponge is 5"-7" and since they are natural, they vary in texture and appearance. (No soap is included, pictures are for example only.)
Our sea sponges are a natural product direct from the coast of Florida or Texas. They are harvested and cleaned for bathing and so much better than the plastic & petroleum artificial sponges most people are used to. They are much softer than loofah's and I prefer these to loofah by far. These sponges are naturally antibacterial without chemicals added. These are lovely to use on your skin. Suds absolutely pour from the holes and they make your soap last so much longer because you need very little and the sponge does the rest sudsing it up for you. It's a must for a luxurious bathing experience!
These sponges are harvested sustainably as sponge cuts which means they cut a piece of the sponge off not harvest the whole sponge. It basically means they prune the sponges and leave the rest of the colony to grow more. The pruning of these sponges actually helps the colony to grow better and not crowd out and die off.
We recommend rinsing each sponge in warm soapy water and again in plain water. These sponges are cleaned but some are better than others. Occasionally one will smell more oceany than I like. Soapy water will remove the odor. Let them soak in a sink full of water and squeeze water in and out to rinse them.
To Use: Just wet the sponge to soften it, wipe soap on it or add your body wash to it, squeeze and it will lather your soap like nobody’s business. When you’re finished, just rinse it in fresh water and squeeze it out and let it rest in a dry spot.
To Embed in Soap: dampen sponge in warm water to soften it, squeeze out excess water and use kitchen shears to cut. We get about 6 cuts per sponge for our sponge soaps. (Your number may be more or less depending on how big you want your cuts and how big your mold is.) To embed, soften the cuts in warm water, wring out excess water, pour soap at a light trace, plunge sponge cut in and wiggle to release air and adhere the soap well to the sponge. Let it cure. Soap at a cool temp to avoid damaging the sponge.
Etsy handles the payments. While it is usually done very quickly, any delays or problems with payment will have to be handled with Etsy. We don't have access to your payment accounts through your order except to cancel or refund an already processed order.
Nearly all of our packages ship via USPS. First Class shipping is offered for an economical shipping option on some lightweight items. First Class is not insured should USPS lose or damage your package. Priority Mail is offered as a shipping upgrade on those items and will automatically insure your package for loss and damage up to $100 value. Please use First Class at your own risk. (**If your order is not International & it is over $6.50 in shipping, you are getting Priority Mail automatically, so no need to pay for the shipping upgrade.**)
We try to ship out all packages in a timely manner and accommodate customers in a hurry for an item, but please order your supplies before they run out so you aren't stuck in limbo should something unfortunate happen during the delivery of your package. We cannot guarantee any delivery time frame and are not responsible for inconvenience as a result of a package delayed by loss or damage by USPS.
You're covered for a maximum of $100 unless you pay for insurance for the actual value of your order over $100. If there is no option to add insurance to your shipping and you would like insurance, send us an Etsy message and we can add it for you. If USPS is at fault for the damage of your package, $100 is the maximum they will refund to you unless insurance was paid for.
Lightweight (under 3 lb) International Shipments sent First Class are not insured for loss or damage. If you would like insurance for loss or damage, you will need to message us for Priority Mail service. If your package is over 3lbs, it will go priority mail automatically. Please inquire if you want to insure or add priority mail service to your International package.
All customs, duty & VAT fees that may incur upon shipping are the buyer's responsibility and we don't have control over these fees. Check your country's laws regarding these before you ship.
International shipments are usually completed in 7 business days, but sometimes customs holds an item delaying the delivery. Please be advised the delivery time frame is out of our control.
SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION PACKAGES:
We occasionally send more valuable packages with signature confirmation so USPS cannot drop a valuable package on a porch and walk away leaving it open to theft or loss. We utilize this service at our discretion. No loss claims can be filed on a package that is signed for. Damage claims can be filed as stated in the procedures below.
$5 RUSH HANDLING FEE:
This fee means your order is guaranteed to leave Two Wild Hares within 24 business hours of order receipt. No other delivery speed guarantee is implied by this fee. It just means we hurry up and get it on it's way quickly!
Orders cannot be cancelled once they are shipped. Returns are accepted only on a case by case basis. Batch certified colorants are always non refundable or exchangeable because the certification cannot be transferred.
DAMAGED PACKAGE CLAIMS:
To file a claim, within 7 days of receipt, submit photographs of all of the packaging as it was when it arrived and the specific damage to the contents with an explanation of what was lost or broken. USPS often requires photo proof to pay a claim and your claim is likely to be rejected without it. We will supply USPS with the invoice on your behalf. If USPS damages your package, we have to abide by their decision on the claim. We professionally package all orders to avoid damage occurring and damage is actually very rare for us, but if damage happens, claims can take weeks, so please be patient. We cannot speed up USPS claim processing and aren't responsible for any inconvenience as a result of the delay of the delivery of your package because of waiting on damage claims.
If your package is damaged by a dog or another animal, cut by a box cutter while opening, or damaged because of neglect (such as leaving it in a mail box or in the weather for days or not providing a secure location for delivery) Two Wild Hares cannot be held responsible. We are also not responsible for the cost of redelivery of a package if the customer as supplied an incorrect mailing address. Please make sure your address is entered in the USPS standardized format and provide a safe place for delivery. Make sure your local PO knows where to safely leave your packages and pick them up promptly.
We are happy to enter the claim for you on USPS should one be needed and accommodate a reshipment of your package if a claim is paid. If you enter the claim online yourself, we are unable to do anything further for you regarding your damaged package. To file a claim through Two Wild Hares, you must notify Two Wild Hares within 7 days of the receipt of your package. As stated at the top, only Priority Mail packages are insured against damage. We will finish the claim process for you and reship your items if a claim is paid.
If your package is missing in action, we unfortunately have to wait 15 days to file a claim through USPS. We aim for quick and accurate deliveries, but lost packages sometimes happen and are out of our control. We cannot speed up USPS claim processing and aren't responsible for any inconvenience as a result of the delay of having to wait for the 15 days to file a claim. Your package is insured for a maximum of $100 unless you've paid for the additional insurance for the value over $100. To file a claim through Two Wild Hares for a lost package, you must notify us within 30 days of the mailing date of your package. Only Priority Mail packages are insured against loss.
We are happy to enter a loss claim for you on USPS should one be needed and accommodate a reshipment of your package if a claim is paid. If you enter the claim online yourself, we are unable to do anything further for you regarding your lost package. Please notify us within 30 days of the mailing date of your package to file a lost package claim and we will handle the claim process for you.
